Key Announcements
Summary of Q1-Q4, 2025
2025 marked a shift from proving humanity to building durable infrastructure around it, spanning identity, wallets, cryptography, and culture. Note that the milestones listed below are ordered by importance, not by their occurrence in time.
1. Launch of Wallet-as-a-Protocol (WaaP)

WaaP was publicly released at WalletCon Argentina as a seedless, vendor-less, and free-to-integrate wallet protocol.
It introduced 2PC custody, scoped delegation, and protocol-level portability, positioning WaaP as a structural alternative to WaaS (Wallet-as-a-Service).
waap.xyz launched with a production-ready SDK for developers.
This release marked Holonym’s expansion from identity into wallet infrastructure and user agency.
Why it matters: this is the single largest product launch of the year and a new protocol pillar.
2. Human Passport crossed $500M in funds protected

Human Passport surpassed $500M in value protected from bots and Sybils.
Over 2M Passport accounts, 43M+ credentials issued, and 436K+ Passports minted onchain.
It cemented Passport’s position as a leading proof-of-humanity and Sybil-defense protocol in web3.
Why it matters: clear proof of scale, trust, and sustained adoption.
3. Passport Embed became the default verification flow

Passport Embed launched as the new in-app verification standard.
Removed redirect friction and improved completion rates for partners.
Established embedded verification as the long-term UX direction.
Why it matters: Embed significantly improved onboarding and partner integration quality.
4. Easy-onboarding Stamps introduced, led by ZK Email

ZK Email Stamp launched, enabling free, privacy-preserving verification via Uber and Amazon receipts.
Marked the start of a broader push toward low-friction, non-crypto-native onboarding.
Follow-on Stamps (X, Steam, Discord) continued this direction into 2026.
Why it matters: expands Passport beyond crypto-native users without compromising privacy.
5. Human Network scaled as core cryptographic infrastructure

2.7M+ Human Keys issued, secured by over $3B in restaked ETH.
Continued operation as a vOPRF-based threshold network supporting wallets, identity proofs, and nullifiers.
Positioned as shared infrastructure across Passport and WaaP.
Why it matters: Human Network is the cryptographic layer for the whole human.tech ecosystem (and beyond).
6. HUMN campaign progressed from verification to participation

HUMN Season 1 closed with 68.8k verified participants and 228M HUMN Points tied to Passport activity.
HUMN Season 2 launched, shifting focus from “prove you are human” to contribution and governance.
The Covenant of Humanistic Technologies is being introduced as the participation and governance layer.
Why it matters: expanding from product development as the sole goal to community, governance, and culture as supporting, interwoven endeavors.
7. human.tech advanced as the cultural and advocacy layer
Partnerships with Funding the Commons and Refunite, connecting identity tech to real-world rights and aid.
Human Tech Residency at Edge City Patagonia explored d/acc, fintech, and sovereign identity in practice.
Presence across major ecosystem events, including ETH San Francisco, Berlin Blockchain Week, WalletCon and Devconnect Argentina.
Why it matters: reinforced human.tech as more than branding, a cultural and philosophical anchor.
8. Sustained protection of major ecosystem programs
Human Passport secured Gitcoin Grants rounds, privacy voting via MACI, and multiple airdrops.
Expanded use in quadratic funding, governance, and TGE protection.
Why it matters: validates Passport as critical infrastructure, not a one-off tool.
