human.tech

human.tech is the cultural and philosophical layer of the Holonym ecosystem, grounding our products in a shared commitment to human-aligned technology. While Passport, Network, and Wallet deliver the infrastructure, human.tech carries the vision—through partnerships, advocacy, campaigns, and community initiatives that connect identity and dignity in practice. We will start this report with a round of updates from the human.tech angle.

Campaigns

HUMN onchain SUMR

HUMN onchain SUMR invites people to show up onchain with proof of humanity. By tying rewards to real participation, it reinforced the principle of a more human web3 – one where incentives recognize not wallet addresses, but people behind them.

Season 1 of the campaign, focused on Human Passport, is currently live. +30k early Passport adopters claimed their 2x multiplier score to date. More about it in the Passport section.

The Manifestation Campaign

Manifestation Campaign, the cultural layer of human.tech’s activity, is taking a turn. The campaign, which began with an opening digital art exhibition featuring artists Idil, Infiniteyay, and Panaviscope interpreting the Covenant of Humanistic Technology themes through their own lens, is now entering its phase two with the public launch of manifest.human.tech. Stay tuned!

Partnerships & Collaborations

human.tech × Refunite

Relay ID, a privacy-preserving identity and aid distribution system that we developed alongside Refunite, is gaining adoption in Uganda. We’ve teamed up with Refunite to deliver sovereign access to identity and finance to those without government ID or other formal identity documents. Focused on ease of use and onboarding, Relay ID continues to expand in East Africa, where displaced and undocumented communities can now access aid and coordination through familiar channels like SMS and WhatsApp, with the group of community leaders in Refunite’s network acting as a trust layer, distributing funds further down the tranches.

human.tech × Ika

This July, Proof of Clean Hands was tested for the first time on Sui to power Ika’s compliant airdrop. It marks the beginning of many compliance use cases that Proof of Clean Hands enables in crypto and the wider digital space. It is also one more step in the ongoing and expanding cooperation between Ika and human.tech. [learn more]

human.tech × Stellar

Human ID is now live on Stellar, supported by the Stellar Community Fund. This brings privacy-preserving verification directly into the network, with integrations across Human Passport, Human Wallet, and Proof of Clean Hands. The tools open pathways for Sybil resistance, compliance, and fair distribution in onchain ecosystems. The work connects to our humanitarian deployments with Refunite. Together, these efforts show how the same identity infrastructure can support both grassroots relief and global financial systems. [learn more]

human.tech × Aztec

Live on testnet, Human Bridge on Aztec is a standard bridge between Ethereum and Aztec Network that allows users to mint clean USDC/ETH/WBTC. We are gearing up for an even busier Q4, when Proof of Clean Hands (PoCH) will play a crucial role in compliance as Aztec progresses towards mainnet.

human.tech x Funding the Commons

This quarter, we channeled our partnership with Funding the Commons through two RealFi Hack bounties on privacy-preserving identity and accessible onboarding, offering $10k in HUMN prizes. This continues a shared commitment across events and initiatives to expand access, privacy, and trust in digital finance. [learn more]

Events & Gatherings

human.tech residency at Edge City Patagonia, co-hosted by Universal Profiles

This November, during Edge City in Patagonia, we are co-hosting a human.tech residency together with Universal Profiles. Set in San Martín de los Andes, the 10-day gathering will bring builders, artists, and researchers into a shared space to explore D/ACC — distributed, autonomous, composable communities — through challenge statements on local economies, coordination, and governance.

Token 2049 in Singapure

Early in October, we’re represented at Token 2049 by our COO and Passport’s co-founder, Kyle Weiss. Contact us or Kyle directly if you’d like to arrange a meeting during the event.

In the Press

Q3 brought strong global media attention to human.tech and its ecosystem, including:

  • Cointelegraph — explored how human rights principles can be embedded into digital systems. Self-custody, privacy-by-default, and censorship-resistant personhood must be core design principles for any technology – the future of digital freedom depends on it.

  • The Defiant — discussed the path forward for privacy in digital finance, describing CBDCs as “programmable money” under state control, logging every transaction on a government ledger.

  • CCN — reported on HUMN ONCHAIN SUMR as a way to reward real humans in web3.

  • Blockchain Reporter — examined risks of centralized biometric verification and our alternative approach.

  • Observer and BlockHash Podcast — featured commentary on identity, privacy, and human-aligned technology.

Passport Embed live in beta

Passport Embed went live in beta last quarter, bringing a lightweight, embeddable identity verification flow directly into partner sites and apps. Built on the same backend as the Passport app, the component offers customizable UI, Stamp-based scoring, and both instant and progressive verification options. The goal is to reduce friction, improve completion rates, and make proof of humanity native to any platform.

Announcement of Passport Embed entering beta, Sep. 11, 2025

Human ID integration completed

We completed integration of Human ID products into the Passport backend, adding Government ID check, Proof of Clean Hands, Phone Verification, and Biometrics. These modules now work seamlessly within Passport, expanding the range of verification methods available to partners and strengthening the foundation for compliance, Sybil resistance, and fair distribution.

New Stamp coming soon: ZK Email

A new ZK Email Stamp is in development, enabling users to verify Amazon and Uber activity through zero-knowledge proofs derived from Gmail metadata. The Stamp will issue up to six credentials, remain free to use, and maintain high privacy standards, adding another accessible and privacy-preserving proof to the Passport ecosystem.

Campaigns

HUMN onchain SUMR: szn 1

Season 1 of HUMN onchain SUMR centered on Passport activity, a measurable human onchain presence. Participants with a Humanity Score of 20+ were eligible to earn HUMN Points by collecting Stamps, minting their Passport onchain, and engaging with Passport-integrated campaigns. Early adopters who held the 20+ score before the July 13 snapshot received a 2× multiplier.

Stats so far:

  • All eligible humans: 35.9K

  • Cumulative sum of points: 158M

  • Human Keys generated: 35,807

  • Passports minted: 15,176

  • Top chains by Passports minted: Base, Linea, Optimism

Announcement of HUMN onchain SUMR going live, Jul. 29, 2025

Human Passport x theMiracle x MetaMask: OG campaign

In Q3 we launched the OG campaign with TheMiracle and MetaMask as part of HUMN onchain SUMR. The first round rewarded 5,000 long-time MetaMask users who verified with Passport and reached a Humanity Score of 20+, each receiving an OG bonus in HUMN Points.

A second round is now live, continuing to onboard pre-selected MetaMask wallets through Passport and expanding Sybil-resistant participation in one of web3’s largest wallet communities. We registered 3.88K claims at the time of writing.

Human Passport x Lido Finance

Lido introduced Identified Community Stakers (ICS) within its Community Staking Module, giving independent node operators a path to run validators on better terms. Human Passport was one of the proof-of-humanity tools used in this process, enabling stakers to collect Stamps and reach a Humanity Score mapped directly to Lido’s system. This ensured each staker counted once, without exposing sensitive data, and supported broader decentralization of validator participation.

Human Passport x t3rn

The partnership with t3rn moved from preparation to execution in Q3. Passport powered the Sybil checker for the $TRN airdrop, evaluating wallets and classifying them across five categories, from 100% Human to 100% Sybil. Users in the middle ranges could complete verification through Passport Stamps to secure their allocation. This integration demonstrated how Passport can protect token launches while still giving uncertain users a clear path to prove their humanity and participate.

Human Passport x Overlay Protocol

Overlay Protocol integrated Passport to secure its $OVL airdrop for TORCH campaign participants. Eligibility required a Humanity Score of 25+, ensuring rewards went to verified individuals while filtering out Sybil farms. The campaign demonstrated how Passport can reinforce community-based allowlists with privacy-preserving proof of humanity.

Case Studies

Incentivized testnet case study

This quarter, we released a detailed case study showing how Human Passport protected five distinct incentivized testnet campaigns (Initia, Avail, Sunrise, ImpossibleCloudNetwork, and Linea). Each project used Passport Stamps, custom score thresholds, and optionally, smart-contract integrations to ensure faucets, quests, and rewards reached real participants.

For example, Avail’s “Clash of Nodes” campaign ran over 2M transactions from ~75K verified wallets. In Linea, more than 207K users verified humanity via Passport, minting Passports onchain while meeting score thresholds to qualify for leaderboard boosts.

Shape Network case study

In August, we published a case study on Shape Network, an Ethereum Layer 2 built for NFT culture, which integrated Passport to secure its reward economy.

Shape applied Passport to both Gasback (gas fee rebates for creators) and Stack (a gamified points-and-medals system), using a custom Passport dashboard and onchain attestations. Users and creators minted Passports on Shape, with scores pushed onchain via EAS and queried by Shape’s smart contracts to gate rewards. This ensured gas rebates and medals went to verified individuals.

The results: over 45,000 Stack NFTs minted and tens of thousands of medals distributed to unique human users.

Unlock case study

Unlock integrated Passport as a proof-of-personhood option within its protocol, allowing creators to set up subscriptions, tickets, memberships, and other gated-access items secured by Passport verification. This makes it possible to design onchain experiences where access is restricted to verified humans, giving Unlock users a flexible and privacy-preserving way to build custom gated communities and events.

Human Network

Product Updates

Resharing & Operator Rotation

Resharing is now live, allowing keys to be redistributed securely across operators without relying on a single party — a critical feature for fault tolerance and long-term security. The Network also enabled permissionless node joins, lowering barriers for new operators to participate. In addition, epoch-based operator rotation was introduced, ensuring that the set of operators responsible for key shares changes over time. Together, these upgrades strengthen decentralization, reduce single points of failure, and increase resilience of the Network.

Benchmark: 100% Passport credential coverage, 1M+ Human Keys served

A benchmark run confirmed that 100% of Passport credentials can be mapped to Human Keys on the Network. This marks a major step toward market readiness, showing that the Network can support the full range of Passport credentials end-to-end.

Moreover, Human Network crossed 1M Human Keys generated!

New dashboard ready

You can now track Human Network numbers on network.hu.mn. The new dashboard includes the stats on the Human Keys generated, active operators, quorum status, leaderboard, all requests sent to the Network, and many more – all in one place.

Scale & Growth

  • Human Keys: 1.2M+ unique Human Keys issued

  • Infrastructure: 27 nodes live, operated by 25 independent operators

  • Restaking Security: ~$3.7B delegated to Human Network

  • Traffic: ~20k daily average requests, with an all-time high of 49k on August 26

These updates are detailed in the blog Human Network: The Infrastructure for Human Keys.

Halborn security audit completed

In Q3, Human Network underwent a full audit by Halborn. The review covered the Rust codebase and threshold cryptography implementation. All reported findings were addressed, and the final report was made publicly available, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and security at the core of Human Keys' infrastructure.

Human Wallet

Product Updates

New framework: Waap

We are preparing a major evolution of the Human Wallet brand. Wallet as a protocol is coming in hot – a decentralized framework designed to spin up wallets for dApps and embed identity, improving the user experience. Existing wallet solutions can plug in WaaP to improve onboarding, fix custody, and security.

“A Wallet for Every Human” means:

  • Universal access to finance

  • Universal personhood

  • Digital rights embedded into technology by design

Waap is being developed as the world’s most secure, decentralized, and free wallet protocol. This shift also reframes the broader ecosystem: human.tech as the framework for Waap.

Progress:

  • waap.xyz — production shipped for early adopters ⇒ book a demo

  • Migrated all Human Wallet users to the new WaaP wallets

  • Dev playground is here for customized onboarding

  • Introducing WaaPu soon, our mascot 👀

Further details will roll out as development progresses, with the big reveal planned for DevConnect this November in Argentina.

Sponsoring: WalletCon Argentina

We are preparing for our biggest announcement yet at WalletCon Argentina, where human.tech will join as a Tier 1 sponsor. This presence positions us at the center of the wallet ecosystem, with Waap set to take the stage.

Performance and Stability Improvements

A new enclave layer was introduced between the user and the Human Network, increasing the wallet’s overall speed, stability, and responsiveness. This upgrade improves transaction flow and reliability under load, marking a key step toward a smoother experience as we move closer to Waap’s release.

Summary

In Q3, the Holonym ecosystem expanded across infrastructure, products, and community.

From Relay ID in Uganda to compliance tools on Sui and Aztec, identity and privacy-first systems powered finance at the edge. Passport moved closer to users and partners with the launch of its Embed beta (soon to be fully released), while Human Network reached full Passport credential coverage and released resharing. Human Wallet is re-emerging as Waap, rebuilt for resilience and global access across wallets, services, and ecosystem – a framework for Wallet as a Protocol is here.

At the same time, the HUMN onchain SUMR campaign went live — bringing humanity directly into the fight for Sybil resistance. The szn one, focused on Passport, is almost over, with the next szn brewing in the background.

And alongside the product milestones, culture anchored its root: the Covenant townhalls brought interesting conversations, harvesting a handful amount of artifacts submitted to the Covenant (spoiler: there will be an exhibition!) and a human.tech residency in Patagonia opened up for builders willing to explore human-aligned tech this November.

Thank you to the builders, artists, partners, and contributors who shaped this work in Q3. You are the best!
